Wedding Officiant Canada — Officiant Terms & Conditions (v2026.08)
1. Commitment to Policies
Officiants must adhere to all organizational policies regarding ordination, traditional marriage ceremonies, and conflicts of interest.
2. Cancellation Policy
Officiants must not cancel weddings unless absolutely necessary, as this affects the organization's reputation.
3. Payment Terms
Payments are processed on the first day of each month. Officiants must submit billing for approval by the end of each month. Timely and accurate reporting of events is the responsibility of the officiant. Payment amounts follow the current published OfficiantPaymentRate schedule.
4. Mileage Reimbursement
Mileage is reimbursed at the current published rate per kilometer after the first 40 km for each event. It is the officiant's responsibility to track and submit mileage accurately.
5. Exclusivity Clause
Officiants may not perform weddings or related services for other organizations during the term of their contract with Wedding Officiant Canada.
6. Termination of Contract
Violation of any terms or conditions may result in immediate termination of the officiant's contract.
7. Acknowledgment of Understanding
All applicants must acknowledge that they have read and understood the terms and conditions set forth by the organization.
Additional Considerations:
- Training & Development: New officiants complete orientation and training modules before receiving bookings.
- Code of Conduct: Officiants maintain professional behavior and ethics at all events.
- Feedback Mechanism: Couples may provide feedback on officiants to maintain service quality.
- Insurance & Liability: Officiants clarify with administration whether liability insurance is required for their engagements.
