CONTRACT TERMS

MARRIAGE LICENSE:
-
Client understands that it is the client's responsibility to acquire a valid marriage license in the state where the wedding ceremony will take place and the marriage license must be on the premises when the ceremony is performed. Client understands that failure to have these legal documents means that the wedding officiant cannot legally perform the ceremony and is under no obligation to do so. The officiant may at his/her discretion perform a symbolic ceremony, which will have no legal merit, and perform another ceremony in private for the couple once the legal documents are presented, for an additional fee. Client will consult with the local court or city clerk to find the exact requirements for the client's area.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND:
-
The officiant's agreement to perform the ceremony is contingent upon unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, riots, strikes, epidemics, acts of God, or any other legitimate conditions beyond their control. If such circumstances arise, the officiant will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement. If a replacement cannot be secured, the client will receive a full refund.
-
The client acknowledges that the officiant's liability is limited to the performance fee and that the officiant is not responsible for any indirect or consequential damages resulting from a breach of contract.
-
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the event will be eligible for a partial refund, minus a $150 consultation and administration fee.
-
Deposits are non-refundable if the wedding is cancelled within 30 days, unless the officiant initiates the cancellation.
ADDITIONAL TERMS:
-
If the ceremony includes a sand ceremony, unity candle, or any other special feature, it is the client's responsibility to provide all necessary equipment.
-
If the client wishes to have the officiant attend the rehearsal, this must be explicitly included in the package, and an additional fee will be charged.
-
The officiant agrees to arrive at the wedding location specified in the contract at the agreed-upon time. The client understands the importance of adhering to these times, but the officiant acknowledges that weddings may not always go as planned and will accommodate for delays, as time permits. The officiant will allocate a 1.5-hour time block per wedding to allow for unexpected delays.
-
Mileage Fee: A charge of $0.95 per kilometre will apply if the officiant needs to travel more than 40 kilometres from our office (as listed on our website) to the venue.
